The Bolton Celtics are a National Basketball Association team based in Boston Massachusetts. The Franchise is one of seven teams in the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference of the National Basketball Association. The Celtics play at the FleetCenter in Boston, Massachusetts, and the team wears jerseys of green and white. One of the most successful and celebrated franchises in professional sports, Boston Celtics have captured 16 NBA championships since their founding in 1946. From 1959 through 1966, Boston won eight titles and establishing the longest streak of consecutive championships in United States sports history. Early NBA greats such as guards Bob Cousy, K.C. Jones, Sam Jones, and Bill Sharman, forwards John Havlicek and Frank Ramsey; and center Bill Russell featured in Boston lineups under coach Red Auerbach. With Dave Cowens, Paul Silas, and Jo Jo White, the Celtics became dominant again. In 1974 the team bested the Milwaukee Bucks in the NBA Finals, and in 1976 the team won yet another championship after defeating the Phoenix Suns.

For those two championships Tommy Heinsohn coached the team. Auerbach selected Larry Bird in the 1978 NBA Draft, Bird was joined by another Celtics draft pick, Kevin McHale, and trade acquisition Robert Parish. With these three future Hall of Famers in place, the Celtics yet again became a dominant team in the NBA. The Dynasty went on to capture the NBA Championship in 1981, just two years after Bird had been drafted, under head coach Bill Fitch. The Boston Celtics has also won nineteen conference titles and twenty five Division titles. The Celtics have faced the Los Angeles Lakers ten times in the NBA Finals, establishing one of the best-known rivalries in professional basketball. Throughout the 80s, at the height of the rivalry, the Lakers and Celtics would win 8 NBA Championships in the decade; The Lakers won 5 while the Celtics won 3, and would play each other in the NBA Finals 3 different times. During the 2006 season the Celtic acquired forward Wally Szczerbiak, centers Michael Olowokandi and Dwayne Jones. Currently the Celtics dispalys a mediocre record, but coach Danny Ainge has stated that he is committed to continuing the rebulding pocess under team captain Paul Pierce. Paul Piece is seen by many as playing the best basketball of his distinguished career so far. Other younger talents in the franchise including Gerald Green, Ryan Gomes, and Orien Greene.
